Well, after 36 hours of travel, 23 of which were spent on various planes, we made it to Beijing. I do believe that there are few things in life better than a decent bed and a hot shower after a long trip.
Love the area that we are staying in Beijing this time. We are very close to the center of the city as opposed to the airport area we stayed in last time we were here. After we got here yesterday afternoon around 1 p.m.. China time, we got settled in and went to the grocery store and had a late lunch. We were here last in 2006 as Beijing was getting ready for the Olympics and you could literally feel the change in the air. It is nice to see the results of all of the work that was everywhere before. Beijing is lovely and all of the hard work shows. When we finally settled down to sleep, the beds didn't even feel as hard as I remembered from before.
Today we are getting ready to head off in a couple of hours for our tours for the day, then back to pack up for the trip in the morning to Nanchang.
Oh my goodness! I'll bet those beds do feel good after 36 hours of travel. It is so nice to hear your excitement. By tomorrow you should be holding her. I am so very happy for you!!
